These are questions that we get asked a lot, and we thought we should share our answers in one central location. If you have been sent to this page, the answer you are looking for is probably here somewhere!
All of our servers are connected into a Global chat channel. This means that no matter where you are playing on the network, you can talk to the same great community of players!
You will be able to tell if someone is on the same server as you based on the tag in front of their name in chat. What ever [TAG] is in front of their name will be the server that they are on. Currently this color is orange. You can talk to these players on different servers but you cannot message them, nor can you meet up with them in game without switching servers.
On any of the network servers, you have the ability to switch to a local server specific channel at /warp chat. This will kick you from the global channel, and you will no longer send or receive messages through the global channel. This is a much quieter way to play, if the chat is bothering you or annoying you.
3. I want to play with my friends, is that possible?
Of course! On every server on Andromeda we have ways to help players meet up with each other! All of the servers utilize places like /warp build. Players can warp there and meet up with each other. Along with that, we have towny implemented on quite a few of our servers as well. On most of our modpacks there are many ways to get around and to join up with others.
We have the network set up so that every player gets the chance to play the modpack in the way that that pack was intended to be played. We don't add a lot of extra commands to regular players, because those commands are just not needed. We do offer /tpa and /tpahere as donator perks, if you really feel that you need those commands in order to play the game. We have made ti where /tpahere can be bought after just one round of voting.
We are always looking for staff on Andromeda, but we want to be sure that you are a right fit in our community. Before we consider any of our players for staff, the player has to have played on at least one of our servers for a decent amount of play time. Generally that means at least 24 hours of online time. We also want to see that you are generally a nice person, who responds to players well in chat when they need something or have a question. However we also don't want to hear you telling us about how helpful you are, either. Asking for a staff rank is only going to annoy us, so the best thing to do is to go about playing exactly how you would play on any server, and if you are a good fit for staff, you will hear from us!
We are always looking at new modpacks. If you feel like there is a modpack that is the perfect fit for our network, make a forum post about it! We enjoy playing new games, and if the modpack looks stable and promising, we always consider it.
That doesn't mean we will always make a server based around the pack, but we are generally pretty flexible.
Along with this idea, we also like to only keep up servers that have a playerbase. If a server's playerbase disappears, the server itself will also disappear.
No. We do not give out OP, for any reason whatsoever. We do occasionally hold contests for free Vote Points, but we don't hand those out every day either. We do not have a youtube rank, and we do not give Youtubers any special perks. We do encourage our players to record their game play and post the links in our forums.
We give players minimal commands in order to encourage them to immerse completely into the modpacks themselves. Mod specific commands can be enabled in single player, (Such as the Ars Magica Config options) but plugin and server commands are limited for a reason, and we have no plans on changing the way they are set up. Many extra and helpful commands are available as Vote Perks.
8.I don't understand how to use X mod, can you help?
Many of our players on the network have played around with all of the mods. Ask your question in global chat, and if someone knows the answer they will tell you. If no one seems to know the answer, your best friend will be Google and the modpack Wikis. Google search the modpack and the mod you are looking for information on, and read up!
Begging for items in chat puts a strain on everyone's play experience. Please limit how many times you ask for items in chat, and focus more on playing the game and getting the items yourself. This will allow you to get more playtime out of the game, and will keep everyone happy.
10. Why don't you use this plugin on your network?
We have our servers set up with plugins that we know work, and that work with the way we want our game play to work. We add plugins as we see fit, but we generally like to keep our servers fairly basic (aside from all of the mods from the modpack of course). Adding 100's of plugins can add lag that we can't get rid of, so we would rather be safe and as lag free as possible. :)
We have TPA and TPAHERE as vote perks along with a lot other perks you can buy in the Vote Shop page or /buy in-game . To buy the perks , you need to vote 6 times a day or buy vote points using real money .
P.S. Tpahere is 3 points while Tpa is 40, Why? because we cant people to have access to teleporting to each other , and if two people buy tpahere , they can both teleport to each other .
We also want to encourage you to learn how to vote .
Also , Before voting please register to ENJIN and LINK YOUR CHARACTER before voting to receive vote points .
